About me

Hello, my name is Caleb. I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Dynamical Systems Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

In my current research, I am developing theoretical and computational methods for understanding and controlling turbulent flows in nonequilibrium materials. My focus is active nematics (a special kind of active matter), but the methods are also relevant for other classes of nonequilibrium matter.

My Ph.D. research was carried out at Brandeis University (August 2020 graduation), and dealt with the theory of nonequilibrium steady states in active matter. This work involved numerical simulations, model building, and applied PDE analysis. I would be happy to provide a copy of my dissertation upon request. A preview is also available on ProQuest here, though a subscription is required for full viewing.
