About me

Hello, my name is Caleb. I am a post doc researcher in the Dynamical Systems Lab (principal investigator: Piyush Grover) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

In our current research, we are developing theoretical and computational methods for understanding and controlling turbulent flows in nonequilibrium materials. Our focus is active nematics (a special kind of active matter), but our methods are also relevant for other classes of nonequilibrium matter.

My PhD research was carried out at Brandeis University (August 2020 graduation), and dealt with the theory of nonequilibrium steady states in active matter. This work involved numerical simulations, model building, and applied PDE analysis. A list of my journal articles on the topic is given under the 'Research' tab above, and my dissertation is available on request. A preview is also available on ProQuest here (a subscription is required for full viewing).
